Selection Process

Stage 1 – Written Examination (170 marks, MCQ, 3 hours)

Two compulsory papers: General Ability Test (50 marks) and Technical Paper-II (120 marks). Negative marking as per TPSC norms. Qualifying marks: UR – minimum 55% in each subject; Reserved – 45% in each subject. Candidates scoring less than qualifying marks in any paper are disqualified, and marks of that paper are not counted for aggregate.

Stage 2 – Interview/Personality Test (30 marks)

Called category-wise based on written marks – ratio: 1 vacancy = 5 candidates; 2 vacancies = 8 candidates; 3+ vacancies = 3 times the number. Equal marks candidates are also called. Interview assesses intellectual ability, social traits, current affairs, leadership, and moral integrity. Final merit = written + interview marks.
