962 vacancies are now filled under the RSSB Prahri Bharti 2024 category wise cutoff marks final result — and if you are waiting to check whether your score was enough, this page has every number you need. The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has officially issued the final selection order for the Prahri (Jail Guard) Sidhi Bharti 2024 under Advertisement No. 17/2024. Out of the advertised 968 posts (912 Non-Scheduled Area + 56 Scheduled Area), 962 candidates have been finally selected and their appointment recommendation has been forwarded to the Prison Department. Notably, the OBC General cutoff at 336.94 is actually higher than the General category cutoff of 329.67 — a pattern that results from category-wise age benefit tiebreakers, which most result articles fail to explain.

Vacancy and Selection Analysis

Zone (Mandal) Total Posts
Jaipur 199
Bharatpur 76
Jodhpur 88
Bikaner 105
Ajmer 138
Udaipur 55
Kota 98
Scheduled Area (TSP) 44
Total 803

Out of the 968 advertised posts, 962 candidates have been finally selected — 6 posts remain unfilled, reflecting shortfalls at the document verification stage where some candidates could not prove eligibility. The Jaipur zone has the highest allocation at 199 posts, followed by Ajmer at 138. The OBC General cutoff (336.94) exceeded even the open General cutoff (329.67) — this happened because at equal marks, candidates are ranked by date of birth (older candidate ranked higher); the OBC last-selected candidate had a date of birth of 11-01-1998, indicating a tight score cluster in that category. The Saharia tribal (SAH) category had a significantly lower cutoff at 161.70, reflecting the constitutional protection for this particularly vulnerable group. Scheduled Area candidates competed separately with a lower baseline — the ST General cutoff there was 261.70 versus 311.03 in the non-scheduled area, a difference of approximately 50 marks that illustrates how distinct the two competitive environments are. Of the 51 women’s reserved seats projected in the notification, the final numbers reflect allocation across all categories in merit-cum-priority order.

Salary and In-Hand Calculation

Official in-hand salary not confirmed in the result order. Figures below are estimated for Pay Matrix Level-3 under Rajasthan 7th Pay Commission. Verify from official Rajasthan Finance Department sources before making any decisions.
Component Approximate Amount
Basic Pay (Level-3, entry) ₹21,700 per month
Dearness Allowance (DA ~17%) ₹3,689 per month
HRA (varies by city class) ₹1,736–₹5,208 per month
Other allowances (TA, Medical etc.) As applicable
NPS / Pension Deduction (~10% of Basic) – ₹2,170 per month
Other standard deductions Approx. – ₹1,500–₹2,500
Estimated In-Hand ₹22,000–₹27,000 per month

The notification confirms Pay Matrix Level-3 for the Prahri post. After NPS deduction and standard deductions, estimated take-home is approximately ₹22,000–₹27,000 per month for a fresh entrant, varying by posting city (which determines HRA class). This is a permanent state government position with full job security, Rajasthan State Health Scheme (RGHS) medical coverage, and state pension benefits. For comparison, a similar state police constable at Pay Level-4 (₹25,500 basic) would earn approximately ₹27,000–₹32,000 in hand — the Prahri post sits slightly below but offers equivalent job security and benefits within the Prison Department.

Final year students who had not yet received their board certificates were allowed to apply, provided documentary evidence of passing was submitted before the selection stage. Selection Process

Stage 1: Written Examination (CBT/TBT)

A Computer Based Test or Tablet Based Test was conducted on 12 April 2025. The paper had 100 objective-type questions carrying 4 marks each (total 400 marks) with a duration of 2 hours. Negative marking of 1 mark applied for each wrong answer. The minimum qualifying marks were 36%. A fifth option “E” was required to be darkened for unattempted questions; darkening none of the five circles for more than 10% of questions resulted in disqualification.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Conducted between 18 December 2025 and 01 January 2026 for shortlisted candidates (up to 10 times the vacancies per category). Both male and female candidates had to complete a 5 km run — within 25 minutes for males and 35 minutes for females. Only one attempt was permitted and no appeal was allowed. Pregnant women were advised not to appear and could be granted additional time of up to 2 months post-delivery upon application.

Stage 3: Physical Standard Test (PST) and Document Verification

Height, chest (males), and weight (females) were measured and video-recorded. Candidates dissatisfied with measurements could appeal on the same day by depositing ₹500; if the appeal succeeded, the fee was refunded. Document verification was conducted by the Prison Department from 23 February 2026 to 06 March 2026.

3 disqualification triggers specific to Rajasthan Prahri recruitment: (1) Caste certificate based on husband’s name, residence, or income — for OBC/MBC, the certificate must be based on the applicant’s father’s name, residence, and income; a husband-based certificate is explicitly invalid for this recruitment. (2) Applying under a reserved category as a married woman who moved to Rajasthan after marriage from another state — such candidates are treated as General category for this recruitment and must apply and pay accordingly. (3) Darkening none of the five answer bubbles (A–E) in more than 10% of questions in the exam — this constitutes automatic disqualification regardless of score, as Option E must be darkened for every unattempted question.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the approximate in-hand salary for Rajasthan Prahri (Jail Guard) after deductions?
The post carries Pay Matrix Level-3 with a basic pay of approximately ₹21,700 per month. After NPS deduction and standard deductions, the estimated take-home is ₹22,000–₹27,000 per month, varying by posting city and applicable allowances. This is an estimate; verify from Rajasthan Finance Department sources before making any financial decision.
Why is the OBC cutoff (336.94) higher than the General cutoff (329.67)?
At equal marks, RSSB ranks candidates by date of birth — older candidates rank higher. The last OBC candidate selected had a Date of Birth of 11 January 1998, which was the tiebreaker. This means the OBC category was extremely competitive with many candidates scoring at or near the same marks, and the age tiebreaker pushed the effective cutoff higher than the open General category.
How many candidates were finally selected out of 968 advertised posts?
962 candidates were finally selected — 909 for Non-Scheduled Area (against 912 advertised) and 53 for Scheduled Area (against 56 advertised). The 6 shortfall is attributed to candidates failing document verification or eligibility checks in the final stage.
What is the physical test standard for Prahri female candidates?
Female candidates must run 5 km within 35 minutes for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). For the Physical Standard Test, minimum height is 152 cm and minimum weight is 47.5 kg. SC/ST female candidates get a height relaxation of 5 cm. Pregnant women are advised not to appear in PET/PST.
What was the exam pattern and negative marking for RSSB Prahri 2024?
The written exam had 100 objective questions worth 4 marks each (total 400 marks) in 2 hours. Negative marking was 1 mark per wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks were 36%. Unattempted questions required darkening Option E on the OMR sheet; failing to darken any circle for more than 10% of questions resulted in disqualification.
What is the Saharia (SAH) category cutoff and who is eligible?
The SAH category cutoff was 161.6985 for both General and Female sub-categories in the Non-Scheduled Area. The Saharia Adivasi tribe is a specially recognised vulnerable group under Rajasthan government orders, and candidates must clearly indicate this category in the Baran district column of the application form to avail this reservation benefit.
Can Ex-Servicemen from outside Rajasthan apply for reserved posts?
No. Reservation benefits including Ex-Servicemen quota, SC/ST, OBC, and EWS reservations are available only to bonafide residents of Rajasthan. Candidates from other states who belong to any reserved category are treated as General category candidates for this recruitment and must apply and pay the General fee accordingly.
