HRRL Recruitment 2026 – Overview
For Diploma, B.E./B.Tech, and Chartered Accountant holders looking for a refinery-sector career, the HRRL recruitment 2026 in-hand salary grade wise picture is genuinely competitive: E0 Junior Executives take home approximately ₹55,000–₹60,000 per month based on a CTC of ₹8.87 lakhs, while E5 Senior Managers receive approximately ₹1,35,000–₹1,45,000 per month on a ₹24.81 lakh CTC. One critical eligibility rule almost all job portals miss: candidates with BE/B.Tech, MBA, M.Sc, CA, or any post-graduation are not eligible for E0 (Junior Executive) posts – only the specified Diploma/B.Sc. qualification is accepted at that level.

Vacancy and Category Analysis
| Grade | Designation | UR | EWS | OBC (NCL) | SC | ST | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| E0 | Jr. Executive (Chemical 37 + Mechanical 1 + Fire & Safety 2) | 26 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 5 | 40 |
| E1 | Asst. Engineer / Asst. Accounts Officer / Asst. Officer-IS | 7 | 1 | 4 | 3 | 1 | 16 |
| E2 | Engineer / Accounts Officer / Medical Officer | 16 | 4 | 7 | 7 | 6 | 40 |
| E3 | Senior Engineer (Mechanical 4, Process 10) | 0 | 1 | 1 | 8 | 4 | 14 |
| E5 | Senior Manager (Chemical/Mech/Elec/Inst/Finance) | 0 | 0 | 12 | 3 | 4 | 19 |
| Total | 49 | 10 | 27 | 23 | 20 | 129 |
E0 and E2 each account for 40 posts – together comprising 62% of all vacancies. The Chemical discipline dominates with 91 posts across all grades (37 Jr. Executive + 10 Asst. Engineer + 31 Engineer + 10 Senior Engineer + 3 Senior Manager Process/Technical Planning), making it the single largest opportunity in this notification. Notably, at E3 and E5 levels, UR seats are zero – all 33 senior posts are reserved for EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST candidates, which is unusual and reflects HRRL’s cadre-strength calculations. With 129 vacancies and an estimated 80,000–1.5 lakh applicants across disciplines based on comparable HPCL/BPCL recruitment drives for a greenfield refinery, the selection ratio for UR candidates at E0 stands at roughly 1 in 2,000–3,000 for the Chemical stream. SC/ST candidates face considerably better odds at E3 and E5 levels with 12 combined SC+ST seats at zero UR competition.
Salary and In-Hand Calculation
| Grade | Designation | Basic Pay (Min) | CTC p.a. (Approx.) | Approx. In-Hand/Month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| E0 | Junior Executive | ₹30,000 | ₹8.87 lakhs | ₹55,000–₹60,000 |
| E1 | Asst. Engineer / Officer | ₹40,000 | ₹12.11 lakhs | ₹75,000–₹82,000 |
| E2 | Engineer / Officer | ₹50,000 | ₹15.03 lakhs | ₹92,000–₹1,00,000 |
| E3 | Senior Engineer / Officer | ₹60,000 | ₹18.34 lakhs | ₹1,10,000–₹1,20,000 |
| E5 | Senior Manager | ₹80,000 | ₹24.81 lakhs | ₹1,35,000–₹1,45,000 |
CTC Breakdown (E0 example at minimum basic ₹30,000):
- Basic Pay: ₹30,000
- Dearness Allowance (DA): applicable as per HRRL policy
- HRA: Payable unless company township accommodation is allotted (HRA = NIL on allotment of township house at Pachpadra/Balotra)
- Perks & Cafeteria Allowance: 25% of basic = ₹7,500 (E0/E1/E2); 30% (E3); 35% (E5)
- Less: PF/NPS contribution (~12% of basic): ₹3,600
- Less: Retention deduction during probation: ₹3,000/month (E0), ₹5,000/month (E1–E5) – released after 3 years
- Approximate take-home (E0): ₹55,000–₹60,000 per month
Compared to HPCL Officer (Grade-A) which offers approximately ₹1,10,000–₹1,20,000 in-hand at the equivalent experience level, HRRL E0/E1 offers lower take-home because it is an entry/junior level position – however HRRL E5 Senior Manager compensation (₹1,35,000–₹1,45,000 in-hand) is closely comparable to HPCL’s mid-level officer pay, reflecting HRRL’s positioning as a fast-growth greenfield JV. Candidates posted at Pachpadra township will receive no separate HRA – the township accommodation is provided in lieu.
Application Fee
| Category | Fee | Payment Mode |
|---|---|---|
| UR / OBC-NCL / EWS | ₹1,180 (₹1,000 + GST @18% = ₹180) + gateway charges | Debit/Credit Card / UPI / Net Banking |
| SC / ST / PwBD | Nil (Exempt) | – |
Fee is non-refundable under all circumstances – even if candidature is rejected or the recruitment is cancelled. After payment, verify the status shows “Your Transaction is successfully completed” within 2 days; an “incomplete” payment status means your application will be rejected even if the amount was deducted from your account.
Age Limit
| Grade | Max Age (UR) | OBC-NCL | SC / ST | PwBD (UR) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| E0 (Jr. Executive) | 25 years | 28 years | 30 years | 35 years |
| E1 (Asst. Engineer/Officer) | 25 years | 28 years | 30 years | 35 years |
| E2 (Engineer/Officer) | 29 years | 32 years | 34 years | 39 years |
| E3 (Senior Engineer) | 34 years | 37 years | 39 years | 44 years |

Selection Process
For E0 Posts (Jr. Executive – Chemical, Mechanical, Fire & Safety)
Three-stage elimination process: CBT → Skill Test → Personal Interview. The CBT has no negative marking and comprises General Aptitude (English, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning) and Technical/Professional Knowledge. UR/EWS candidates must score 60% overall; SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD need 54%. Qualifying in the Skill Test requires 40% (UR/EWS) or 33.33% (others). Physical Fitness Efficiency Test (Agility, Endurance, Working at Height) applies specifically to E0 posts.
For E1 and E2 Posts (Asst. Engineers, Engineers, Finance, IS)
Three stages: CBT (no negative marking) → Group Task/Group Discussion → Personal Interview. Medical Officer (E2) selection is by Personal Interview only – no CBT. Same qualifying marks apply: 60%/54% overall across all three stages combined for UR-EWS and reserved categories respectively.
For E3 and E5 Posts (Senior Engineers and Senior Managers)
Interview-only process: Technical Competency Interview (elimination, 60%/54%) followed by Behavioural Competency Interview (elimination, 60%/54%). In case of large application volumes, HRRL will shortlist based on experience, qualification marks, and age before calling for interviews. Resume in HRRL format must be uploaded at the time of online application.
Your first 7 days after applying:
- Email your query to career@hrrl.in with subject format: “Position Name – Application Number” – this is the only official query channel.
- Save your payment acknowledgement printout immediately – it is needed for future reference since HRRL’s portal does not allow re-access to completed transactions.
- If applying for E2/E3/E5, upload your resume, essential education certificate, and experience certificates in a single PDF at the time of application – missing documents lead to cancellation without travel reimbursement.
- Bookmark www.hrrl.in and check it every 3–4 days – no press advertisements or separate email communications will be sent for CBT dates or admit cards.
- If currently employed in a Govt. Department or PSU, start the process of obtaining your NOC immediately – it must be produced in original hard copy at the time of the selection process or your candidature is rejected.
