Vacancy and Category Analysis

Category-wise breakdown: At least 75% of seats in each district are reserved for rural candidates. SC/ST reservation is provided proportionally to district population, but not less than national average (15% for SC, 7.5% for ST). OBC gets 27% reservation as per central list. Divyang candidates have separate reservation as per GOI norms. Rural-open seats are allocated block-wise based on rural population.

Competition Ratio: With approximately 665 JNVs and up to 80 seats each, total seats are around 53,200. Expected applicants are over 10 lakh based on previous years. Salary and In-Hand Calculation

JNVST 2027 is for admission to Class VI, which is fully residential and free. There is no salary component for students. However, a nominal Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN) fee is collected from Classes IX-XII students (₹600/month). Students of SC/ST, Divyang, all Girls, and BPL families are exempted. For wards of Government employees (other than exempted categories), VVN is charged @₹1500/month or actual Children Education Allowance, whichever is less.

The selection test is a single paper of 2 hours duration (11:30 AM to 01:30 PM) with objective-type questions. Divyang students get 40 minutes extra.
