Indian Army Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 – Havildar & Naib Subedar
Indian Army has confirmed 2026 sports quota posts for outstanding sportspersons seeking Direct Entry Havildar and Naib Subedar positions. The Army Sports Control Board (ASCB) invites applications from unmarried Indian male and female candidates who have participated at International/Junior/Senior National Championships or Khelo India Games from 01 April 2024 onwards. This is a prestigious opportunity to join the Indian Army as a Direct Entry Havildar (equivalent to Sergeant) or Naib Subedar (equivalent to Junior Commissioned Officer) through the sports quota. Pay, Allowances & Benefits
Pay and Allowances
Pay & allowances for Direct Entry Havildar and Naib Subedar shall be same as applicable to existing Regular Serving Personnel of Indian Army as per Army Pay Rules, 2017 and amendments thereon.

Pensionary benefits will be governed as per Pension Regulations for the Army – 2008 and amended from time to time.

Probation Period
All sportsmen enrolled under this scheme will be placed under a probationary period of 3 years. Havildar & Naib Subedar entries are liable to be discharged if sports performance does not improve to expected levels during probation.

Selection Process
Stage 1: Application Submission
Submit application form (print from advertisement) with all educational and sports certificates to Army Sports Control Board via Registered Post only. Address: Directorate of PT & Sports, General Staff Branch, IHQ of MoD (Army), Room No 747 ‘A’ Wing, Sena Bhawan, PO New Delhi – 110 011.
Stage 2: Short-listing
Short-listing is based on higher sports achievements. Candidates with superior performance at International/National level are given preference.
Stage 3: Call Letter Issuance
Call-up letters are sent via email (from redsports.01@gov.in) indicating date, time, and place for selection trials.
Stage 4: Selection Trials
- Physical Standards Test: Height, Weight, Chest measurement
- Physical Fitness Test: 1.6 km run, 9 feet ditch, zig-zag balance (Male) / 1.6 km run, 10 feet long jump, 3 feet high jump (Female)
- Skill Test: Sports-specific skill demonstration
- Medical Examination: Conducted by Army Medical Team at trials site
Stage 5: Medical Review (if temporarily unfit)
Candidates declared Medically Temporary Unfit can seek specialist review from specified Military Hospital within 21 days. Permanent Unfit candidates can appeal within 21 days with ₹10 MRO payment.
Stage 6: Final Selection
Selection list prepared from candidates qualifying in all respects based on available vacancies in particular sports disciplines.
Stage 7: Police Verification & Enrolment
Selected candidates submit Police Verification form along with Offer of Enrolment. Report to Regimental Centre for training.

Critical Warning:
