Army Public School Delhi Teacher Recruitment 2026

Army Public School Delhi Teacher Recruitment 2026 – Overview

The Army Public School Delhi Teacher Recruitment 2026 notification has been released by three prestigious Army Public Schools located in Delhi — APS Dhaula Kuan, APS Shankar Vihar (Delhi Cantt), and APS Sadar Bazar Road (Delhi Cantt). All three schools are inviting applications from qualified and experienced candidates for teaching as well as non-teaching positions on an adhoc basis for the academic session 2026–27. The notification was published in April 2026, making this one of the most urgent government-aided school hiring drives in Delhi this month.

These schools are run under the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) and follow CBSE-affiliated norms. The posts on offer span multiple levels — Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), Primary Teacher (PRT), Coaches, Balvatika Teachers, and several administrative and support roles. Whether you are a fresh B.Ed graduate seeking your first teaching assignment or an experienced educator looking for a prestigious institution, this recruitment covers a wide range of eligibility profiles.

Government-aided school jobs under AWES come with several advantages: structured pay scales, job stability for the contract period, CBSE-standard work environment, and the prestige of working in an institution that serves the children of India’s armed forces. Competition for APS Delhi positions tends to be moderate to high among teaching professionals in the NCR region, and given the short application window, aspirants should act immediately after reading this guide.

This article consolidates all three school notifications into one comprehensive resource, explaining eligibility criteria, subject-wise vacancies, fee structure, age rules, and the step-by-step application process in plain language so that no candidate is left confused.

Recruitment Overview

All three Army Public Schools recruiting this cycle operate under the AWES framework and hold CBSE affiliation, which makes them among the most credible and sought-after school employers in Delhi Cantt. The Local Selection Board (LSB) process ensures that recruitment is conducted transparently, with merit-based shortlisting followed by a formal interview. Candidates who have previously appeared for the AWES Online Screening Test (OST) are at an advantage, though OST qualification is not mandatory for adhoc vacancies.

Important Dates

The application windows for all three schools are extremely short, with deadlines falling between 20 April and 25 April 2026. Experienced Sarkari job applicants know that government school applications submitted in the first few days carry a lower risk of last-minute postal delays or courier errors. If you are applying by post, dispatch your application at least 4–5 days before the deadline to account for transit time. For candidates in Delhi NCR, in-person submission (by hand) is strongly recommended to avoid any risk of rejection due to late receipt. Remember that applications arriving after 2:00 PM on the due date will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Application Fee

All three schools require a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 250/- per application, submitted in the form of a Demand Draft (DD). For APS Shankar Vihar, candidates must note that a separate application form — and therefore a separate DD — is required for each category (PGT, TGT, or PRT) they apply to. One of the most common mistakes candidates make is submitting a single DD for multiple posts; this leads to rejection of all applications. Ensure the DD is drawn in favour of the correct school name and payable at the correct location before attaching it to your form.

School Fee Amount DD in Favour Of Payable At
APS Dhaula Kuan Rs. 250/- Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan New Delhi
APS Shankar Vihar Rs. 250/- (per category application) Army Public School Shankar Vihar Delhi
APS Delhi Cantt Rs. 250/- Army Public School, Delhi Cantt Bank close to school location

Payment Mode: Only Demand Draft (DD) is accepted. Online UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit Card payments are not accepted for these offline applications. Obtain the DD from any nationalized bank branch before filling out the application form, and attach it securely (do not staple it to the photograph). Incomplete applications or those received without the DD will be summarily rejected.

Age Limit & Experience Criteria

The age and experience criteria for APS Delhi teacher recruitment 2026 are calculated as on 01 April 2026. The rules differ for Army Spouses and for candidates from other backgrounds (“Others”). Notably, Army Spouses aged below 40 years have no minimum teaching experience requirement, making this an excellent opportunity for relatively younger educators with strong academic qualifications. For candidates aged between 40 and 55, a minimum of 5 years of relevant teaching experience in the last ten years is mandatory for “Others,” while Army Spouses may count cumulative experience.

A simple example: if you are 43 years old and not an Army Spouse, you must have at least 5 years of verifiable teaching experience in the appropriate category (PGT/TGT/PRT) accumulated within the last 10 years (i.e., from 2015 onwards). Experience in a lower category does not automatically qualify for a higher-level post — for instance, PRT experience cannot be counted for a PGT appointment.

Candidate Type Age Range Minimum Teaching Experience Required Remarks
Army Spouses Below 40 years Nil
Army Spouses 40 to 55 years 05 years (cumulative) In appropriate category
Others (General) Below 40 years Nil
Others (General) 40 to 55 years 05 years In last ten years only

05 years and above 08 points
07 years and above 09 points
09 years and above 10 points

There is no mention of standard Government of India age relaxation categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) in the official notification. Candidates are advised to check the official notice for updates on category-wise age relaxation.

Eligibility Criteria – Qualification Details

The minimum qualifications for Army Public School teachers follow NCTE/CBSE/KV Sangathan guidelines, with AWES having raised standards in certain cases for the benefit of students. All candidates must possess proficiency in English and working knowledge of computers — these are non-negotiable requirements across all three schools. The most common eligibility mistake is submitting an application without verifying whether your B.Ed institution is NCTE-recognized; non-NCTE B.Ed degrees will disqualify your application.

Regarding CTET/TET: it is not mandatory to appear for the AWES Online Screening Test (OST) for adhoc interview eligibility. However, CTET/TET is mandatory at the time of final appointment for TGT/PRT posts. Candidates who have not yet cleared CTET may still apply but must clear it before appointment. Final-year students completing their B.Ed are generally not eligible for adhoc appointments unless they already hold the degree at the time of application.

Post Level Educational Qualification Aggregate % Professional Qualification Prof. Aggregate %
PGT Post-Graduation in relevant subject 50% B.Ed from NCTE recognized institution 50%
TGT Graduation in relevant subject 50%* B.Ed from NCTE recognized institution 50%
PRT Graduation 50%* B.El.Ed / Two-year D.El.Ed (NCTE recognized) 50%

*Note: A Post-Graduate holding less than 50% in Graduation may still apply for TGT/PRT provided they have scored 50% or more at the Post-Graduation level. Aggregate percentage is calculated across the entire duration of the degree.

Vacancy Details – Post-wise & School-wise

The vacancies span teaching and non-teaching roles across three schools. The exact number of vacancies per post has not been specified in the notification for any of the three schools — candidates must visit the respective school websites for updated vacancy counts. What is known is the subject-wise and category-wise availability of posts. From an expert analysis standpoint, the TGT level typically sees the highest volume of applicants in Delhi, especially for subjects like English, Maths, and Science, given the large pool of B.Ed graduates in NCR. PGT-level competition is comparatively lower due to the post-graduation requirement. Non-teaching and admin posts (Head Clerk, LDC, Lab Assistant) attract a different applicant profile and may see lower competition from traditional teaching aspirants.

Selection Process

The selection process for APS Delhi adhoc vacancies 2026 is straightforward but competitive. Since these are adhoc appointments, the process is faster than regular government recruitment and does not involve a written examination. Instead, shortlisting is based on academic credentials and OST scores (if available), followed by a personal interview. Understanding each stage will help you prepare better and avoid last-minute surprises.

Stage 1: Application Screening

After the application deadline closes, the school’s Local Selection Board reviews all received applications for completeness — correct DD, photographs, self-attested certificates, and filled form. Incomplete or late applications are rejected outright at this stage without any communication to the candidate. Ensure every field in the application form is filled before submission. A missing DD or missing photograph is the single most common reason for rejection.

Stage 2: Shortlisting (Based on Raw / OST Scores)

Candidates are shortlisted based on their raw academic scores or normalized OST scores if available. Those who have passed the AWES Online Screening Test (OST) are preferred, but candidates who have not taken the OST can still be considered for adhoc vacancies. Army Spouses get additional weightage points in the interview selection process based on years of experience (4 to 10 points). Only shortlisted candidates will be informed via email — no postal intimation is sent.

Stage 3: Personal Interview

Shortlisted candidates are called to the respective school campus for a personal interview tentatively scheduled in the first week of May 2026. The interview panel typically evaluates subject knowledge, communication skills in English, teaching aptitude, and computer literacy. Prepare by revising your subject syllabus at the class level you are applying to teach (e.g., Classes IX–XII for PGT, VI–X for TGT, I–V for PRT). Dress professionally and carry all original certificates along with self-attested photocopies.

Stage 4: Document Verification

During or after the interview, the panel will verify original documents including educational certificates, B.Ed/D.El.Ed marksheets, OST Score Card (if available), CTET/TET certificate, experience certificates, and identity proof. Any discrepancy found between the application form and original documents may lead to disqualification. Keep documents organized in chronological order before attending the interview.

Stage 5: Final Selection / Panel Preparation

Based on interview performance, document verification, and applicable weightage (especially for Army Spouses), a select panel is prepared. Selected candidates are appointed on an adhoc basis for the academic session 2026–27. The school reserves the right to cancel any candidature at any stage without prior notice. Adhoc appointments do not guarantee permanent employment, but they are an excellent stepping stone for building experience in CBSE-affiliated Army schools.

Believe in your preparation. Thousands of teachers across India dream of working in prestigious institutions like Army Public Schools — and many of them get selected by simply being well-prepared, punctual, and professionally presented. Your credentials, honesty, and teaching passion are your strongest tools.

Exam / Test Syllabus & Pattern

However, if you have previously appeared or plan to appear for the AWES Online Screening Test (OST), the standard OST covers General English, General Awareness, Teaching Aptitude, and subject-specific questions based on your applied post. CTET/TET preparation (Paper I for PRT, Paper II for TGT) is strongly recommended, as CTET is mandatory at the time of final appointment for TGT and PRT posts.

Salary & Pay Scale

The official notification does not specify a fixed pay scale for adhoc appointments. Adhoc teachers in AWES schools are generally compensated as per AWES guidelines, which are broadly aligned with CBSE/KV Sangathan norms. Based on publicly available AWES salary structures (which may be subject to change), the approximate compensation for different teaching levels is given below. These figures are indicative and for informational purposes only.

Post Approx. Gross Salary (Per Month) Key Perks
PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) Rs. 35,000 – Rs. 50,000 (approx.) CBSE school environment, structured leaves
TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) Rs. 28,000 – Rs. 42,000 (approx.) Medical facilities, school canteen access
PRT (Primary Teacher) Rs. 22,000 – 35,000 (approx.) AWES insurance benefits, professional growth
Non-Teaching / Admin Staff Rs. 18,000 – Rs. 30,000 (approx.) Stable institutional environment

Exact salary breakdowns, pay levels, and in-hand deductions (NPS, HRA, DA, TA) are not mentioned in the official notification. Candidates are advised to check the official notice for updates on exact remuneration. Since these are adhoc positions, pay may differ from regular permanent scale positions in central government schools. That said, Army Public Schools are known for offering competitive compensation relative to private schools of comparable stature in Delhi.

Career growth in APS schools typically involves renewal of adhoc contracts based on performance, eventual eligibility for regular panel listing through OST, and the prestige of AWES affiliation which is recognized across Army school networks nationwide.

How to Apply – Step-by-Step Guide

Pre-Application Checklist
  • Original and self-attested photocopies of all educational certificates (10th, 12th, Graduation, Post-Graduation)
  • B.Ed / D.El.Ed marksheets from an NCTE recognized institution
  • CTET / TET certificate (if cleared)
  • AWES OST Score Card (if available — preferred but not mandatory)
  • Experience certificates from previous employer(s) on official letterhead
  • Two recent passport-size colour photographs (one to paste, one to attach separately)
  • Valid Demand Draft of Rs. 250/- in favour of the correct school
  • Address proof and identity proof
  • Army Spouse identity card (if applicable, for weightage benefit)

  1. Download the Application Form: Visit the official school website (apsdk.com for Dhaula Kuan / apsshankarvihar.ac.in for Shankar Vihar / apsdelhicantt.com for Delhi Cantt). Download the application form under the “Vacancy” or “Recruitment” section and print it on A4 paper.
  2. Fill the Form in Block Capitals: Use a blue or black pen. Fill all mandatory fields — especially personal data (Section 1) which is compulsory for all schools. Write your name, date of birth, contact details, and qualification details exactly as they appear in your certificates.
  3. Paste Photograph: Paste one recent colour passport-size photograph in the designated box on the form. Do not staple the photograph. Attach one additional photograph separately for the call letter.
  4. Attach Self-Attested Copies: Arrange all self-attested photocopies of your academic and experience certificates. Self-attest each document by signing across the photocopy with the words “Self-Attested” and the date.
  5. Obtain Demand Draft: Get a DD for Rs. 250/- from your bank in favour of the correct school. Attach the DD securely to the application form without stapling it to the photograph area.
  6. For APS Shankar Vihar — Separate Forms per Category: If you are applying for both TGT and PRT at Shankar Vihar, fill a separate application form for each and attach a separate DD of Rs. 250/- for each application.
  7. Submit by Hand or Post: Send the complete application package to the school’s address by hand delivery or registered/speed post so it reaches before the deadline (20 April 2026 for Shankar Vihar and Delhi Cantt; 25 April 2026 for Dhaula Kuan — before 2:00 PM on respective dates). Applications via email will not be entertained.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Expert Tips to Crack This Recruitment

1. Apply Immediately — Don’t Wait for the Last Day

With last dates falling on 20 and 25 April 2026, you have very little time. Postal applications dispatched on the last day risk non-delivery or late receipt. Apply within the next 24–48 hours if you are planning to send by post. If you are in Delhi NCR, personally hand-delivering the application to the school ensures it reaches on time and you receive an acknowledgement. Early applications also give school staff time to flag any issues with your form before it is processed.

2. Read the Full Notification Before Filling the Form

Many candidates fail to read the detailed qualification criteria and submit forms for posts they are not eligible for. For example, applying for PGT without a Post-Graduate degree, or applying for TGT without CTET, are two of the most frequent eligibility errors. Go through the subject-wise qualification table (Appendix C referenced in the notification) thoroughly. If your exact subject qualification is listed, you are eligible. If it is not, do not apply for that specific post.

3. Prepare All Documents Before Starting the Application

Gather every required document before you print and fill the application form. This includes original marksheets, B.Ed degree, CTET certificate, experience certificates, Army Spouse ID (if applicable), and a valid ID proof. Having everything ready prevents errors caused by rushing — such as attaching the wrong certificate or forgetting to self-attest one document. Create a checklist and tick off each item as you attach it.

4. Begin Interview Preparation from Day One

Since the interview is tentatively scheduled for the first week of May 2026, you have approximately three weeks from the application deadline. Use this time wisely. Revise your subject content at the class level relevant to your post (PGT: IX–XII, TGT: VI–X, PRT: I–V). Also prepare for questions on teaching methodology, CBSE curriculum, child psychology, and classroom management — these are standard topics in AWES interview panels. English fluency and computer literacy will be assessed, so brush up on basic computing concepts as well.

5. Avoid the Most Common Rejection Reasons

From experience with AWES school applications, the most common reasons for rejection are: (a) application sent via email instead of physical submission, (b) missing or incorrectly named demand draft, (c) incomplete application form with blank mandatory fields, (d) photograph stapled instead of pasted, and (e) self-attested copies missing from the envelope. None of these mistakes are hard to avoid — they simply require careful attention. Re-read the instructions section of the official notification at least twice before sealing the envelope.

6. Stay Updated on Interview Date and Result Announcements

Since this is an adhoc recruitment, official communication will happen exclusively via email. Check your registered email inbox daily — including the spam folder — from late April 2026 onwards. Interview call letters, date changes, and selection panel results will all be communicated electronically. Do not call the school repeatedly asking for status updates; instead, bookmark the official school websites and check them regularly. If your email bounces or was entered incorrectly in the form, you may miss the interview call entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1. How many total vacancies are there in this APS Delhi recruitment 2026?
The exact number of vacancies has not been disclosed in the official notification for any of the three schools. Candidates are advised to visit the respective school websites (apsdk.com, apsshankarvihar.ac.in, apsdelhicantt.com) for updated vacancy counts. The posts span PGT, TGT, PRT, coaching, and non-teaching administrative roles.
Q2. What is the minimum qualification to apply for APS Teacher recruitment 2026?
The minimum qualification varies by post level. PGT requires Post-Graduation (50%) + B.Ed from an NCTE recognized institution. TGT requires Graduation in the relevant subject (50%) + B.Ed. PRT requires Graduation (50%) + B.El.Ed or D.El.Ed. English proficiency and basic computer knowledge are mandatory across all posts.
Q3. What is the age limit for APS Delhi teacher recruitment?
Age is calculated as on 01 April 2026. Candidates below 40 years of age (both Army Spouses and Others) need no minimum teaching experience. Candidates aged 40 to 55 need at least 5 years of relevant teaching experience — cumulative for Army Spouses, and within the last ten years for others. There is no upper age limit beyond 55 years.
Q4. How much is the application fee and how should it be paid?
The application fee is Rs. 250/- for all three schools. Payment must be made via a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of the respective school and payable at the specified location. Online payments, UPI, or NEFT are not accepted. Incomplete applications without DD will not be considered.
Q5. What is the last date to apply?
For APS Shankar Vihar and APS Delhi Cantt, the last date is 20 April 2026 by 2:00 PM. For APS Dhaula Kuan, the last date is 25 April 2026 by 2:00 PM. Applications must physically reach the school office before the deadline — email submissions are not accepted.
Q6. What is the selection process for APS Delhi adhoc teacher recruitment?
The selection process involves application screening, shortlisting based on academic scores and OST scores (if available), a personal interview at the school campus, and document verification. There is no written examination for these adhoc vacancies. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email for the interview.
Q7. What is the salary for APS PGT, TGT, and PRT posts?
The official notification does not specify a fixed pay scale for adhoc appointments. Salary is generally aligned with AWES guidelines and is competitive relative to private CBSE schools in Delhi. Candidates are advised to inquire about remuneration directly with the school during the interview process.
Q8. Is there any negative marking in the AWES OST exam?
OST (Online Screening Test) is not mandatory for appearing in the adhoc interview for this recruitment cycle. Details regarding negative marking in OST are not mentioned in this notification. Candidates are advised to check the AWES official portal for OST-specific rules if they plan to appear for the test.
Q9. Can final-year students or candidates completing B.Ed apply?
The notification does not explicitly mention final-year eligibility. Generally, AWES adhoc appointments require the candidate to hold the degree at the time of application. Candidates who are yet to receive their degree certificate should check the official notification before applying, as incomplete degrees at the time of appointment typically lead to disqualification.
Q10. Which documents are needed for the APS teacher application?
Required documents include academic marksheets from 10th onwards, B.Ed/D.El.Ed degree from an NCTE recognized institution, CTET/TET certificate (if cleared), OST Score Card (if available), experience certificates, two passport-size colour photographs, Demand Draft of Rs. 250/-, and valid identity proof. Army Spouses must also carry their Army Spouse identity card for weightage benefit.
Q11. Is Army Spouse status beneficial for this recruitment?
Yes. Army Spouses receive significant advantages: no experience requirement below age 40, and interview weightage points ranging from 4 to 10 based on years of experience. A candidate with 9 or more years of teaching experience as an Army Spouse receives the maximum 10 weightage points in the interview selection process.
Q12. Where will the interview be held and how will I get the call letter?
Interviews are held at the respective school campus where you applied. Call letters are sent only via email to shortlisted candidates — no postal intimation is provided. Ensure your email ID entered in the application form is correct and active, and check your spam folder regularly from late April 2026 onwards.
