MP ESB Group 5 Paramedical Recruitment 2026 – Complete Guide
The MP ESB Group 5 Paramedical Recruitment 2026 notification has been officially released by Madhya Pradesh Karmchari Chayan Mandal (MP-ESB), Bhopal, offering a significant opportunity for healthcare and paramedical professionals across the state. Under this joint recruitment examination, a total of 373 vacancies have been advertised for posts including Staff Nurse, Pharmacist Grade-2, Ayurvedic Compounder, Lab Attendant, Dental Technician, Dialysis Technician, and many other equivalent posts under Group-5. The application window opened on 13 March 2026 and closes on 27 March 2026.
This recruitment is a golden opportunity for candidates who have completed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, along with a relevant diploma or certificate in paramedical sciences. Government jobs in the healthcare sector offer unmatched stability, pension benefits under NPS, and the satisfaction of serving communities through public health institutions. Given that this recruitment covers departments spread across multiple medical colleges and AYUSH directorate, competition is expected to be moderate to high for posts like Staff Nurse and Ayurvedic Compounder due to their large vacancy numbers. Early applicants benefit from avoiding last-minute technical issues on the portal.
Recruitment Overview
Madhya Pradesh Karmchari Chayan Mandal (MP-ESB), headquartered at Chayan Bhawan, Main Road No. 1, Chinar Park (East), Bhopal, is the state’s premier recruitment body for all non-MPSC posts. It operates under the Madhya Pradesh Junior Service (Joint Eligibility Examination) Rules, 2013 and conducts online computer-based exams with normalized percentile scoring. Its credibility is well-established as it handles recruitments for government departments, corporations, boards, and autonomous bodies across MP. Selections are purely merit-based, transparent, and follow strict reservation rosters as mandated by the MP government.

Important Dates
One of the most overlooked aspects of any government recruitment is acting on dates early. Candidates who apply in the first week of any notification window avoid last-minute server crashes, payment gateway errors, and photo upload issues that are extremely common in the final two days of the window. For this recruitment, with a 15-day application period, the smart strategy is to complete your form by 20 March 2026, leaving you the correction window until 01 April 2026 to fix any mistakes. Never wait until the last day to submit — once the portal closes, no exceptions are made.

Application Fee
The examination fee for this recruitment is payable per question paper. Candidates applying for posts under Group-5 will face one question paper; hence the fee is applicable once. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD concessions are available exclusively to domicile residents of Madhya Pradesh. Candidates from other states must pay the General (unreserved) fee regardless of their category. A common mistake is candidates from other states applying their home state’s reservation status — this is not applicable here. Payment can be completed via Debit Card (Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Card (Visa/MasterCard), or Internet Banking through the MP Online portal. After a successful payment, save your transaction receipt carefully as it contains your application form number.
| Category | Exam Fee (Per Paper) | Portal Fee (Kiosk) | Portal Fee (Self) |

| Unreserved / General | ₹500/- | ₹60/- | ₹20/- |

| Amendment/Correction Fee | ₹20/- | ₹40/- (portal) | — |
Age Limit
Age calculation for this recruitment is done as on 01 January 2026. To calculate your age correctly: subtract your birth year from 2026, and then adjust for whether your birthday has occurred before or after 01 January. For example, if you were born on 15 March 1988, your age on 01 January 2026 would be 37 years — within the general limit of 40. Under standard GoI-aligned MP government rules, SC/ST/OBC candidates and women (reserved or unreserved) receive a 5-year relaxation, raising the maximum age limit to 45 years. No age relaxation is provided to EWS category candidates as per MP government circular dated 02 February 2022. The absolute cap under all relaxations combined is 45 years (55 years only for contractual employees and the special priority categories listed in Rule 14).
| Category | Minimum Age | Maximum Age | Relaxation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unreserved (UR) | 18 Years | 40 Years | None |
| SC / ST / OBC (MP Domicile) | 18 Years | 45 Years | +5 Years |
| Women (All Categories) | 18 Years | 45 Years | +5 Years |
| EWS (MP Domicile) | 18 Years | 40 Years | None |
| PwD (Divyangjan) | 18 Years | As per Govt. Rules | As applicable |
| Ex-Servicemen | 18 Years | As per service rules | Service period deductible |
| Govt. / Contractual Employees (MP) | 18 Years | 45 Years | +5 Years |
Eligibility Criteria
All educational qualifications must be completed and held by the candidate on the date of form submission. Candidates in their final year of a diploma or degree programme are not eligible — this is one of the most common mistakes seen in paramedical recruitments. The minimum base qualification for virtually all Group-5 posts is 10+2 (Higher Secondary/Class 12) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, along with a relevant diploma/certificate in the specific paramedical stream. Additionally, for most posts, a valid live registration with the Madhya Pradesh Para-Medical Council (MP Sahachikitsiya Parishad) is mandatory. Candidates must also have a live registration at the Employment Office (Rojgar Karyalay) of Madhya Pradesh.
| Post Name | Minimum Education | Additional Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Staff Nurse | 10+2 (Biology Group) | 3-year General Nursing / 4-year GNM Diploma + Nursing Council Registration |
| Pharmacist Grade-2 | 10+2 (Biology/PCB) | Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy + MP Pharmacy Council Registration |
| Ayurvedic Compounder | 10+2 (any board) | 1-year Ayurvedic Compounder training / Ayurvedic Medico-Pharma + MP Para-Medical Council Registration |
| Dental Technician | 10+2 (PCB) | Diploma in relevant subject + MP Para-Medical Council Registration |
| Lab Attendant | 10+2 (PCB) | No further diploma required |
| Dialysis Technician | 10+2 (PCB) | Diploma in Dialysis Technician + MP Para-Medical Council Registration |

| Optometrist | 10+2 (PCB) | Diploma in Optometry + MP Para-Medical Council Registration |
| Compunder/Compounder (ESIC, Unani, Homoeopathy) | 10+2 (relevant board) | 1-year system-specific training + MP Para-Medical Council Registration |
Vacancy Details (Category-wise)
The 373 total vacancies are spread across 9 recruiting departments and 42 post codes. The largest single block of vacancies belongs to the Ayurvedic Compounder post under Directorate AYUSH (125 vacancies), making it the most competitive single post in this recruitment. The Unani Compounder (30) and Homoeopathic Compounder (20) posts add 50 more opportunities under AYUSH alone. From a category analysis perspective, the OBC reservation is held as a provisional/tentative allocation (currently sub-judice at 14% instead of the full 27%), which means OBC candidates should track any final verdict updates. Women have 35% horizontal reservation across all posts, meaning out of every category’s vacancies, 35% are earmarked for women candidates — this is a significant advantage for female applicants.

Selection Process
The selection process for MP ESB Group-5 recruitment 2026 is single-stage and merit-based, conducted entirely through a computer-based online examination. There is no physical test, interview, or separate skill test for these posts. Understanding each stage will help you prepare with the right priorities.
Stage 1: Online Written Examination
The computer-based test (CBT) consists of one question paper with 100 objective-type (MCQ) questions carrying 1 mark each, totaling 100 marks. The exam is split into two sections: General subjects (25 marks) covering General Knowledge, Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, and Aptitude; and Technical Grade-based questions (75 marks) specific to the candidate’s post. Duration is 2 hours. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer. Preparation tip: focus 70% of study time on your technical subject paper since it carries 75 marks — mastering the technical portion is the decisive factor in selection.
Stage 2: Normalisation and Merit List
Since the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, MP-ESB uses the Normalised Equi-Percentile (NEP) scaling method to create a fair merit list. Candidates are ranked by percentile, not raw marks. This means your performance relative to your shift matters. Preparation tip: aim to solve questions accurately rather than rushing — in percentile-based systems, accuracy and time management within your shift pool are equally critical.
Stage 3: Document Verification
After the merit list is published, shortlisted candidates are recommended to the concerned department, which conducts document verification of educational certificates, caste certificates, medical council registration, and other documents. MP-ESB itself does not verify documents — this responsibility lies with the appointing department. Preparation tip: keep all original certificates ready well before results are declared. Any mismatch between what you entered in the form and what you present at verification will disqualify you at this stage.
Stage 4: Appointment by Department
The appointment order must be issued by the concerned department within 3 months of the merit list being issued by MP-ESB. Candidates must join by the date mentioned in the appointment letter, failing which their candidature automatically stands cancelled. Stay informed and respond promptly to any departmental communication post-result.
Expert Insight: The percentile-based scoring means that even a few extra correct answers can push you several positions up in the final merit list. Every mark counts — do not leave any question blank if you have a reasonable guess, but avoid random guessing due to the 0.25 negative marking.
Exam Syllabus and Pattern
The official syllabus for this recruitment has been fully published in Chapter 4 of the official rulebook. - Pharmacist candidates must focus heavily on Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology, as these two subjects typically carry the highest weightage in Paper E-type exams historically.
- Ayurvedic Compounder candidates should memorize Bhaishajya Kalpana preparations and common Dravyaguna of the 100+ medicinal plants listed in the syllabus — these are highly specific and cannot be guessed.
Salary and Pay Scale
The pay structure for Group-5 posts varies significantly by post and department. ESIC posts follow Level-based 7th Pay Commission pay matrices, which provide better starting pay than older 5200-20200 grade pay posts under state government medical colleges. For probation period calculation, the MP government policy mandates that 70% of the minimum basic pay is disbursed in the first year, 80% in the second year, and 90% in the third year as a stipend. Full pay begins only after successful completion of the probation period. The in-hand salary after standard deductions (NPS contribution at 10%, Professional Tax, and basic HRA/DA/TA components at current DA rates) will vary by location and post — the figures below represent approximate gross and in-hand estimates.
| Post Name | Pay Level / Grade Pay | Basic Pay (Min) | Gross Salary (Approx.) | Est. In-Hand (Approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Staff Nurse (ESIC) | Level 7 | ₹28,700 | ₹38,000 – ₹42,000 | ₹33,000 – ₹37,000 |
| Pharmacist Grade-2 (ESIC) | Level 6 | ₹25,300 | ₹34,000 – ₹38,000 | ₹29,000 – ₹33,000 |
| Ayurvedic / Unani / Homoeopathic Compounder (AYUSH) | Level 6 | ₹25,300 | ₹33,000 – ₹37,000 | ₹28,000 – ₹32,000 |
| Dresser (Presser) ESIC | Level 4 | ₹19,500 | ₹26,000 – ₹30,000 | ₹22,000 – ₹26,000 |
| Lab Attendant (GMC) | Level 1 | ₹15,500 | ₹20,000 – ₹23,000 | ₹17,000 – ₹20,000 |
| Dental / Other Technicians (GMC) | GP ₹2800 | ₹5,200 | ₹22,000 – ₹26,000* | ₹18,000 – ₹22,000* |
*Older pay band posts (5200-20200+GP) are being revised under the 7th Pay Commission equivalent as per MP government notifications. Actual pay may differ. Candidates are advised to verify current pay revision status from the official notification.
Career growth in MP government health services includes seniority-based promotions to Senior Grade, Selection Grade, and eventually supervisory/managerial cadres within the same department. The National Pension Scheme (NPS) provides retirement security with government contribution. Compared to similar-level state government posts like LDC or Revenue Department peon, paramedical posts offer substantially better pay given the technical qualification requirements.

Expert Tips to Crack MP ESB Group 5 Recruitment 2026
Apply in the First Week
Do not delay your application under the assumption that more time means better preparation of your documents. Government portals are notorious for slowdowns and payment failures in the last 48 hours of any application window. Candidates who apply between 13–18 March 2026 face zero congestion, have the full correction window available (until 01 April), and can resolve any issues with sufficient time. A first-week application is a risk-free, zero-cost strategy that saves you from one of the most avoidable failure points.
Read the Full Notification Before Filling the Form
Many candidates jump straight to the application portal without reading the 61-page rulebook. This leads to errors like applying for a post where they lack the required council registration, or choosing the wrong department preference. Chapter-2 of the notification contains department-wise vacancy tables with exact eligibility for each post code — cross-reference your qualification certificate against the specific post code you are applying for, not just the generic post name.
Prepare All Documents Before Starting the Application
The MP Online portal times out sessions after periods of inactivity. If you start filling the form and then leave to arrange your documents, you risk losing your filled data and needing to start over. Have your colour photo scanned at 150–200 DPI in JPG format, your signature on white paper scanned similarly, and your handwritten declaration text written and scanned before you even open the portal. This single preparation step eliminates 90% of form-filling frustration.
Begin Exam Preparation from Day One
With the exam scheduled to begin 15 April 2026 — just 33 days after the application window opens — there is no time to waste. The technical section carries 75 marks and is entirely based on your specific post’s diploma curriculum. Start from the most frequently tested topics: for Staff Nurse, focus on Medical-Surgical Nursing and Community Health Nursing first. For Pharmacist, start with Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology. For Ayurvedic Compounder, prioritize Bhaishajya Kalpana and Dravyaguna. Build a daily study schedule of at least 3–4 hours focusing on the 75-mark technical section.
Avoid the Most Common Rejection Reasons
The three most common post-result cancellations in MP paramedical recruitments are: (1) expired or invalid para-medical council registration at the time of document verification, (2) caste certificate not issued by MP’s Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) specifically, and (3) qualification obtained after the application date. Verify your MP Para-Medical Council / Nursing Council / Pharmacy Council registration is active and renewed before applying. If it has expired, renew it before the application closes on 27 March 2026.
Stay Updated on Admit Card, Result, and Cut-off Dates
MP-ESB publishes all updates exclusively on esb.mp.gov.in. Bookmark this website and check it at least twice a week after submitting your application. Admit cards are not sent by post — they must be downloaded using your application form number and password. Set reminders for the exam date (15 April onwards) and keep your original photo ID ready. Post-exam, register on the MP-ESB portal to receive result alerts. Being informed 24–48 hours ahead of cut-off announcements can help you prepare your documents faster for departmental verification.
