Quick Eligibility Check

You MAY be eligible if:

  • You have passed 10+2 from a recognised Board or University
  • You hold the relevant Diploma in Pharmacy, Radiography, or Medical Lab Technology from a recognised institution
  • You are between 18 and 28 years of age as on 07 July 2026
  • You are a male or female Indian citizen
  • For ASI Pharmacist: you are registered as a “Pharmacist” under the Pharmacy Act, 1948
You are NOT eligible if:

  • You do not hold the trade-specific Diploma (general graduation alone is not sufficient)
  • You are above 28 years of age without applicable relaxation
  • You are applying for ASI Pharmacist but lack valid Pharmacy Council registration
  • You are a Person with Disability (PwD) – the notification explicitly states PwD candidates are not eligible for this recruitment
  • You are applying for more than one post – candidates must apply for one post only

Critical note specific to this recruitment: ASI (Pharmacist) applicants must hold active registration under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 – this is a hard eligibility condition that many applicants overlook, and it cannot be substituted with a degree alone.

All dates are subject to change. Monitor cisfrectt.cisf.gov.in regularly for any corrigendum or revised schedule.

Vacancy and Category Analysis

Post UR EWS OBC SC ST Total ESM
ASI (Pharmacist) 10 01 04 02 01 18 02
ASI (X-Ray Technician) 01 00 00 00 00 01 00
ASI (Lab Technician) 04 00 01 00 00 05 00
Total 15 01 05 02 01 24 02

ASI Pharmacist dominates the vacancy pool with 18 of 24 total seats – making it by far the most accessible post. ASI X-Ray Technician has only 1 vacancy (UR only), making it the most competitive post with near-zero margin for error. ASI Lab Technician has 5 seats, with 4 in UR and 1 in OBC. PwBD candidates are explicitly not eligible for this recruitment. Ex-Servicemen have 2 reserved seats in ASI Pharmacist only.

Expected competition level is HIGH based on similar CISF and CAPF para-medical recruitments in 2024–25, where applicant volumes for Group C health posts regularly crossed 80,000–1,00,000 for all-India drives. With 24 total vacancies and approximately 80,000–1,00,000 expected applicants, the selection ratio stands at roughly 1 in 3,300–4,200. UR candidates for ASI X-Ray Technician face the sharpest competition given only 1 vacancy, while ASI Pharmacist UR candidates face comparatively broader odds with 10 available seats. OBC candidates should note that only 5 OBC seats exist across all three posts combined – competition within OBC is correspondingly intense.

Salary and In-Hand Calculation

Post Pay Level Basic Pay (Entry) Gross Approx.
ASI Pharmacist / X-Ray Technician / Lab Technician Level 5 (7th CPC) ₹29,200 ₹38,000–₹44,000/month

Approximate Monthly Deductions and Additions:

  • NPS (National Pension Scheme): ~10% of Basic = ~₹2,920/month
  • HRA: Varies by posting city – X-class city (27% of Basic) = ~₹7,884 | Y-class city (18%) = ~₹5,256 | Z-class city (9%) = ~₹2,628
  • DA (Dearness Allowance): At current central government rate of 55% of Basic = ~₹16,060
  • TA (Transport Allowance): Level 5 entitlement ~₹3,600 + DA on TA
  • CGHS/CGEIS deductions: ~₹500–₹1,000/month combined

After standard deductions, the approximate in-hand take-home is ₹26,000–₹30,000 per month. Compared to a similarly placed Level 5 central government post in a non-combatised role, the CISF para-medical post offers similar base take-home but carries additional risk allowances applicable to combatised personnel, which can add marginally to gross pay depending on deployment location.

Candidates posted in X-class cities receive approximately ₹2,600 more per month in HRA compared to Y-class city postings – a difference of ₹31,200 annually. Since CISF candidates are liable to serve anywhere in Indian territory and abroad, posting city is determined by the department and affects take-home meaningfully over a career.

Beyond salary, the post carries NPS-based retirement benefits, CGHS medical facilities, earned leave, and combatised service perks. Age of superannuation is 60 years.

Application Fee

Category Fee Payment Mode
UR / EWS / OBC (Male) ₹100 Net Banking / Credit-Debit Card / UPI / SBI Challan
SC / ST / ESM (All) / Female Candidates Nil (Exempted) N/A

Fee is non-refundable once paid. SBI Challan payments must be completed at SBI branches by 9 July 2026 – note this is two days after the online application closes. Candidates paying via Challan must wait 48 hours after generating the Challan for the payment to reflect in the CISF system before checking status.

Age Limit

Category Min Age Max Age Relaxation
General / UR / EWS 18 years 28 years Nil
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) 18 years 31 years +3 years
SC / ST 18 years 33 years +5 years
Ex-Servicemen 18 years As per DoP&T norms Deducted military service period (max +3 years over prescribed limit)
Departmental CISF Candidates (General/EWS/OBC) 40 years Applicable with conditions
Departmental CISF Candidates (SC/ST) 45 years Applicable with conditions

Age Calculation Example: Closing date is 07 July 2026. A General category candidate must be born on or after 07 July 1998 to be within the 28-year limit. An OBC candidate must be born on or after 07 July 1995. An SC/ST candidate must be born on or after 07 July 1993.

Eligibility Criteria

Post Qualification Additional Requirement
ASI (Pharmacist) 10+2 from recognised Board + Diploma or Degree in Pharmacy Must be registered as “PHARMACIST” under Pharmacy Act, 1948
ASI (X-Ray Technician) 10+2 from recognised Board + 2-year Diploma in Radiography (Central/State Govt. institution) None additional stated
ASI (Lab Technician) 10+2 from recognised Board with Science + 2-year Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology None additional stated

The most common eligibility mistake for this post type is applying for ASI Pharmacist without active Pharmacy Council registration – a degree or diploma alone does not satisfy the requirement. For ASI Lab Technician, the 10+2 must specifically be with Science as the stream; Arts or Commerce pass candidates are not eligible even with a lab diploma. Final year diploma students are not mentioned as eligible – the qualification must be complete as on the cut-off date of 07 July 2026.

Physical Standards

Category Male Height Male Chest Female Height
General / EWS / SC / OBC (standard) 170 cm 80–85 cm 157 cm
Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Sikkimies 165 cm 80–85 cm 155 cm
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, J&K (domicile) 165 cm 80–85 cm 155 cm
Scheduled Tribes (All categories) 162.5 cm 77–82 cm 154 cm

Weight must be proportionate to height and age and will be assessed at the Medical Examination stage – not at PST. Candidates must not have knock knees, flat foot, varicose vein, or squint in eyes. Tattoo policy: religious symbol tattoos and name tattoos following Army norms are permitted; tattoos on the outer forearm or dorsum of hands are not allowed. Candidates failing physical standards at PST may appeal to the Appellate Authority on the same day through the Presiding Officer.

Selection Process

Stage 1 – Written Examination (OMR/CBT)

The written test carries 100 marks and must be completed in 2 hours. All questions are objective multiple-choice type, conducted bilingually in Hindi and English. There is no negative marking. If held in multiple shifts, scores will be normalised before drawing the merit list. Only written exam qualifiers proceed to Stage 2.

Stage 2 – Physical Standard Test (PST) and Documentation

Shortlisted candidates (approximately 5 times the number of vacancies) are called for PST where height and chest are measured by a Board of Officers. This stage is qualifying. Biometric credentials are registered at this stage and used in all further rounds. Candidates failing PST may appeal on the same day through the Presiding Officer.

Stage 3 – Basic Vocational Aptitude Test (BVAT)

BVAT assesses trade-specific practical suitability and is qualifying in nature – passing it advances the candidate to medical examination but does not contribute to final merit scoring.

Stage 4 – Medical Examination (DME/RME)

Only PST and BVAT qualifiers appear for medical examination. Being declared fit in DME does not confer right to final selection. Candidates declared unfit may appeal for a Review Medical Examination (RME) by giving written consent within 24 hours.

Your first 7 days after applying:

  1. Save your CISF One-Time Registration ID and password – it will be used for all future CISF examinations.
  2. Take a printout of the filled application form and keep it safe for documentation verification.
  3. If paying via SBI Challan, generate it before 7 July and deposit cash at the nearest SBI branch by 9 July 2026.
  4. Begin preparing for the 100-mark written trade test – focus on your specific trade (Pharmacy / Radiography / Lab Technology).
  5. Verify your physical measurements against the height-chest standards for your category – PST has same-day appeal only, with no second chance afterward.

Exam Syllabus

Official syllabus not announced in the notification. The written examination is described as a Job-oriented 100-mark OMR/CBT paper testing knowledge in the candidate’s respective trade. Monitor cisfrectt.cisf.gov.in for official syllabus updates. Do not prepare from unofficial sources.

3 rejection mistakes specific to CISF Para Medical applications:

  1. Uploading a photograph without the date printed on it – the notification explicitly states applications with photographs not bearing the print date will be rejected outright.
  2. Applying for ASI Pharmacist without active Pharmacy Council registration – possessing a pharmacy diploma or degree without registration under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 renders the candidature invalid at the documentation stage.
  3. Submitting multiple applications for different posts – CISF clearly states candidates may apply for one post only; if multiple applications are received from one candidate, only the first will be processed.
