Vacancy and Category Analysis

Insight: Level 1 has the highest number of vacancies (38) followed by Level 3/2 (16) and Level 5/4 (5). Football, Kho-Kho, and Athletics appear across multiple levels. Cricket appears only at Level 1 with fast bowler positions. Candidates meeting higher level criteria (5/4 or 3/2) can also apply for Level 1 positions.

Salary and Pay Scale

Pay levels and approximate salary based on 7th Pay Commission for Railway posts.

Additional Benefits: DA, HRA, TA as per Railway rules. Selected candidates will receive minimum pay of the level plus admissible allowances. Training stipend applies during training period.

• At least 3rd position in World Championships (Junior/Senior)
• At least 3rd position in Asian Games (Senior)
• At least 3rd position in Commonwealth Games (Senior)
• At least 3rd position in Youth Olympics
• At least 3rd position in Champions Trophy (Hockey)

Level 3/2 (Minimum Requirements)

• Represented in World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior)
• Represented in World Championships (Junior/Senior)
• Represented in Asian Games (Senior)
• Represented in Commonwealth Games (Senior)
• Represented in Youth Olympics

Level 1 (Additional Norms)

• Athletics: Gold Medal winner in Open National/Inter State/Asian Championships (Senior) for GP-2800/2400; Medal in National Inter State Senior Athletics for Level 2
• Cricket: Quarter finalist in Senior/U-23/U-19 All India Inter State Group Championships (Except plate group) for Level 3/2; Pre-quarter finalist for Level 1
• Hockey: Participation in International Tournaments (4+ nations) or Semifinalist in Senior National Championships for Level 3/2

Note: All championships must be conducted under recognized International/National/State Sports Federations recognized by Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB).

Educational Qualification

Note: For Clerk-cum-Typist positions, candidates must acquire typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m in English or 25 w.p.m in Hindi within 4 years of appointment.

Selection Process

1. Document Verification & Trial

All eligible candidates called for DV & Trial. Only FIT candidates (scoring 25+ out of 40 marks for game skill, physical fitness, and coach observations) are assessed further.

2. Marks Distribution

• Sports Achievements: 50 marks
• Game Skill, Physical Fitness & Coach Observation: 40 marks
• Educational Qualification: 10 marks
• Total: 100 marks

3. Minimum Qualifying Marks

• Level 5/4: 70 marks
• Level 3/2: 65 marks
• Level 1: 60 marks

Important: In case of tie in marks, younger candidate will be preferred. No TA/DA for trials. Candidates must bring their own kit and be prepared to stay 2-3 days.
