Category-wise insight: Official category breakdown for TES-56 course is not published in the short notice. Based on previous TES courses (e.g., TES-55 had approx 90 vacancies), unreserved category typically holds around 40-45% seats followed by OBC (27%), SC (15%), ST (7.5%), EWS (10%). PwD reservation applies as per DoPT norms (4% horizontal reservation). Candidates from reserved categories must produce valid caste certificate (Central list) at SSB stage. Competition ratio for TES is high – roughly 1:1500 selection odds due to limited seats and nationwide eligibility. Keep checking www.joinindianarmy.nic.in for final vacancy break-up.

Eligibility Criteria

Post Qualification Stream Experience
TES-56 Officer Class 12th with 60% aggregate in PCM + JEE Mains 2026 Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) No experience required

🚨 Most common eligibility mistake: Candidates calculate PCM percentage incorrectly. Only Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics marks are considered – not the best of five subjects. Also, final year Class 12 students can apply provided they produce passing certificate with 60% marks by the time of joining. Equivalent qualifications (like diploma after Class 10) are not accepted. Only Class 12 pass with PCM from recognized board/ university.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting based on JEE Mains 2026

Applications are screened. Only candidates with valid JEE Mains 2026 rank and ≥60% in Class 12 PCM are shortlisted for SSB. It is a qualifying stage – no marks added final merit.

2. SSB Interview (5 days)

Stage 1: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) + Picture Perception & Discussion (PP&DT). Stage 2: Psychology tests, Group Tasks, and Personal Interview. Both stages are merit-based. Recommended preparation: practice OIR mock tests and group planning exercises.

3. Medical Examination

Recommended candidates undergo medical check-up at selected military hospital. Standards as per Army Medical Corps (vision, BMI, physical fitness).

Your first 7 days after applying:
1. Download and save the final submitted application form.
2. Register for JEE Mains 2026 if not already done (mandatory).
3. Obtain medical fitness check-up from private doctor for preliminary assessment.
4. Start practicing OIR (verbal/non-verbal) and TAT/PAT for psychology.
5. Prepare original Class 12 marksheet and domicile certificate.
6. Note down your TES application registration number.
7. Avoid any fake SSB coaching guarantee – Army selection is fully transparent.

Exam Syllabus

Official syllabus for Indian Army TES is not published separately. The qualifying exam is JEE (Mains) 2026. Candidates must prepare full JEE Mains syllabus (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics). No separate written exam by Army after application. Only SSB Interview follows. Do not rely on unofficial “TES written exam” guides.

3 rejection mistakes specific to TES-56:
❌ Entering wrong PCM percentage – only subject-wise marks of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics counted (not optional subject).
❌ Missing JEE Mains 2026 registration number – application will be rejected outright.
❌ Uploading unclear photo/signature – leads to form rejection before SSB shortlisting.
