JKSSB Recruitment 2026 – 130 Vacancies Across 6 Departments, Apply from 22 June

For Matric, ITI, Diploma, Graduate, and B.Lib.Sc holders looking for government jobs in Jammu & Kashmir, the JKSSB has released Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2026 dated 25 May 2026. Important Dates – JKSSB Recruitment 2026

Category‑wise cumulative (all posts combined): As per Annexure‑A summary on page 29: UR – 75, SC – 14, ST – 11, RBA – 9, EWS – 6, ALC/IB – 2, OSC – 7, ESM – 6. PwBD horizontal reservation applicable as per rules. ALC/IB (Residents of areas adjoining Line of Actual Control/International Border) get specific seats.

Expected competition ratio: JKSSB typically receives 5‑10 lakh applications for 100‑200 posts. For 130 posts, expected applicants ~3‑5 lakh. Thus, selection ratio roughly 1 in 2,300 to 1 in 3,800. Posts requiring ITI/Diploma may have slightly lower competition due to specialised qualifications. General graduate‑level posts (e.g., Copy Holder, Library Assistant) will be highly competitive.

Salary & Pay Levels – 7th CPC (J&K)

In‑hand calculation (Level‑6, Assistant Extension Officer): Basic ₹35,400 + DA (currently ~50%) ₹17,700 + HRA (depending on posting) + TA. Approximate in‑hand after deductions (NPS, tax) around ₹58,000‑65,000 per month. Lower level posts (Level‑2) start around ₹19,900 basic, in‑hand approx ₹32,000‑38,000.

Compared to central government posts at same pay levels, J&K government offers similar pay with additional allowances for difficult areas (like ALC/IB areas).

Age Limit – Category‑wise (as on 01.01.2026)

Example calculation: An Open Merit candidate born on 31 December 1986 is eligible (not before 01.01.1986). A candidate born on 01 January 2008 is eligible; born on 02 January 2008 is not.

Eligibility Criteria – Qualification for Sample Posts

Common mistake: For posts requiring “Matric with ITI”, both Matric and ITI certificates must be from recognized boards/institutes. For posts requiring “Diploma in Engineering”, the diploma must be of minimum 3 years duration. Equivalence certificates are required if the qualification is from a board/university other than the prescribed one.

Selection Process – Written Exam + Document Verification

Stage 1: Written Examination (Objective Type, MCQ)

The exam will consist of multiple choice questions set in English language only. There will be negative marking – one‑fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. The exact exam date, duration, and syllabus will be notified separately on the JKSSB website.

Stage 2: Document Verification (DV)

Based on merit in the written exam, candidates will be shortlisted for DV. They must produce original documents (Domicile Certificate, Educational Certificates, Category Certificate, Experience if any, etc.) as per the notification. Failure to produce valid originals on the scheduled date leads to disqualification.

2. Click on the “Online Application” link for Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2026 (available from 22 June 2026).
3. Register by providing basic details – name, father’s name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID.
