Mira Bhayandar MBMC NHM Recruitment 2026 — Overview & Quick Snapshot
The Mira Bhayandar MBMC NHM recruitment 2026 salary and post details have been officially published by the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC), Public Health Department, vide Notice No. MNPA/SARV.A.VI./167/2026-27 dated 16 April 2026. MBMC is inviting applications for contractual vacancies under four programmes: National Health Mission (NHM), National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), 15th Finance Commission — Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandir, and Hindu Hridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Apla Dawakhana (HBT). Combined, these programmes offer over 100 contractual posts ranging from specialists earning ₹75,000/month to MPW (male) positions at ₹18,000/month. Applications can be submitted physically from 17 April 2026 to 4 May 2026 at 5:00 PM at the MBMC Public Health Department office. One important detail not highlighted prominently in most government notices: when MBBS candidates are unavailable for Medical Officer posts, BAMS degree holders with MCIM registration are eligible at a lower stipend of ₹40,000/month — making this recruitment accessible to a broader pool of Ayurveda graduates in the region.

Expert Note: All four programmes (NHM, NTEP, 15th Finance Commission, HBT) are independent — benefits and service conditions applicable to NHM/NTEP employees do not automatically extend to employees selected under the 15th Finance Commission or HBT Dawakhana posts. If you are currently working under NHM, verify your eligibility separately for each programme before applying.

Expert Insight: The 15th Finance Commission Urban AAMH posts have the largest single block with 30 Medical Officer vacancies spread across multiple reservation categories — making these the most contested posts in this entire notification. The BAMS-eligible clause for MO posts (when MBBS candidates are not available) is explicitly mentioned in the notification, giving Ayurveda graduates a real opportunity if MBBS applicants are insufficient for reserved category seats. Category-wise vacancy breakdown follows Maharashtra State Government reservation norms including SC-A, NT-A, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D, VJ/NT, SBC, EWS, and Open categories.

The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation serves the twin cities of Mira Road and Bhayandar in Thane district — a rapidly growing urban agglomeration of over 10 lakh residents. MBMC’s Public Health Department runs active NHM, NTEP, and Ayushman Bharat clinics that serve a large urban population including migrant communities. These contractual positions offer meaningful healthcare delivery experience in a large municipal setting. All four programmes are independent entities — rights, benefits, and service conditions are programme-specific and candidates cannot claim cross-programme benefits.

Additional age provisions: The minimum age for all NHM posts is 18 years. Age is calculated as on the date of advertisement publication (16 April 2026), not on the last application date. Candidates above 60 years must submit a physical fitness certificate certified by a Civil Surgeon. Employees already working under NHM who wish to apply for another NHM post have no age bar. Current NHM contractual employees applying for further posts are also exempt from the standard upper age limit — but must produce a certificate from the current office head at the time of document verification.
Eligibility Criteria — Detailed
| Criterion | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Domicile | Maharashtra state domicile certificate (issued by competent authority) — mandatory for all posts |
| Educational Qualification | As specified per post; must be from a UGC-approved recognised university. Distance education degrees must be UGC-recognised. Grades/CGPA in final year must be converted to percentage by the institution and certified copy attached. |
| Council Registration | Mandatory for all medical/paramedical posts — MCI/MMC (for MBBS), MCIM (for BAMS), MNC (for Nursing/ANM), Paramedical Council (for Lab Technician, Pharmacist, NTEP posts) |
| Language | Marathi — reading, writing, and speaking proficiency mandatory |
| Small Family Certificate | Mandatory as per Maharashtra Civil Services (Small Family Norm) Rules 2005 — format provided with notification |
| Computer Literacy | MSCIT certificate or equivalent — mention details in application. Mandatory for NTEP posts. |
| Experience | Only experience acquired after the minimum required educational qualification is counted. Experience certificate from employing organisation with clear start/end dates is mandatory — verbal claims without certificates are not accepted. |
The most common eligibility mistake for MBMC contractual posts is failing to get grades/CGPA converted to percentage by the institution before applying — the application explicitly warns that if the percentage in the certificate and the percentage mentioned in the application do not match, the application will be rejected. Convert all grades to percentage through your institution and attach the certified conversion certificate before submitting.

Selection Process
Direct Interview (Thet Mulakhat) — For Specialists, MO MBBS, and Part-Time MOs
Radiologist, Paediatrician, Microbiologist, Full-Time MBBS Medical Officer, and Part-Time Medical Officers are selected through direct interview with the following merit scoring system:
| Interview Parameter | Marks |
|---|---|
| Subject Knowledge | 10 |
| Research & Academic Knowledge | 10 |
| Leadership Quality | 10 |
| Administrative Abilities | 10 |
| Experience — Government service (2 marks/year) | 10 (max) |
| Experience — Private service (1 mark/year) | |
| Total Interview Marks | 50 |
Merit Scoring System — For All Other Posts
| Component | Scoring Basis | Maximum Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum required educational qualification (final year percentage) | Proportional to percentage (50 marks for 100%) | 50 |
| Additional qualification / postgraduate degree | Proportional to percentage (20 marks for 100%) | 20 |
| Relevant experience after acquiring required qualification | 6 marks per year | 30 |
| Total | 100 |
After merit list preparation, candidates equal to 50% of the available vacancies are called for original document verification. Candidates absent on the verification day are disqualified — and the next eligible candidate on the merit list is offered the opportunity. Absent candidates cannot make any claim later. The Deputy Commissioner (Public Health), MBMC retains all rights to modify the selection process if required.
Your First 7 Days After Applying
- Submit the Google Form immediately — the form cannot be edited after submission. Fill all details matching your physical application exactly before submitting it online. Mismatch between the Google Form and physical application can disqualify you.
- Prepare and self-attest all required documents — educational certificates (all years from SSC upwards), council registration certificate, caste certificate, domicile certificate, Small Family certificate, NOC/service certificate if currently employed, experience certificates with exact start/end dates, and computer/MSCIT certificate.
- Convert grades to percentage — if any of your marksheets show CGPA/grades, obtain a percentage conversion certificate from your institution and attach it. Applications with grade-only records and no conversion certificate are rejected.
- Submit your physical application in person or by registered post — if sending by registered post, ensure the envelope reaches MBMC by 04/05/2026 at 5:00 PM. Factor in 3–4 working days for postal delivery.
- Monitor mbmc.gov.in regularly — all updates including eligible/ineligible candidate lists, document verification dates, and final selection lists are published only on the MBMC website. No individual communication is sent to any candidate.
How to Apply — Step by Step
- Read the complete official notification carefully from mbmc.gov.in — pay special attention to the post-wise qualification requirements, category-wise vacancy details, age limits, and document requirements.
- Fill the mandatory Google Form online first — once submitted, it cannot be changed. Match every entry in the Google Form with the information you will write in the physical application.
- Download and fill the physical application form (Arjachi Namuna) as provided in the notification — one separate form per post per programme. A single application mentioning multiple posts/programmes will be rejected.
- Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents — educational certificates, mark sheets (with percentage conversion if needed), council registration, caste/category certificate, domicile certificate, experience certificates, computer certificate, Small Family certificate, and criminal record self-declaration.
- Affix a recent passport-size photograph and sign the application form.
- Submit the physical application in person between 17 April and 04 May 2026 (5:00 PM) at: Public Health Department, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan, Mandali Talaw, Ground Floor, Bhayandar (W), Thane – 401101. Or send by registered post to reach by the same deadline.
- Retain a copy of your submitted application and Google Form submission confirmation for future reference throughout the recruitment process.
- Check mbmc.gov.in regularly after submission for eligible/ineligible lists, interview/verification dates, and final results.
- ✔ Recent passport-size photograph (for physical application)
- ✔ Self-attested copies of all educational certificates from SSC onwards, including mark sheets (percentage only — no grades)
- ✔ Percentage conversion certificate from institution (if grade/CGPA system)
- ✔ Council registration certificate (MCI/MMC/MCIM/MNC/Paramedical Council — as applicable)
- ✔ Caste / category certificate (SC-A, NT-A/B/C/D, OBC, SBC, EWS, SEBC as applicable) — issued by competent authority
- ✔ Non-Creamy Layer certificate (for OBC/NT/SBC/VJ/SEBC candidates)
- ✔ Maharashtra domicile certificate
- ✔ Experience certificates with clear start/end dates and organisation letterhead (for all claimed experience)
- ✔ MSCIT / computer certificate
- ✔ Small Family certificate (format appended with notification)
- ✔ Self-declaration of no criminal case (format appended with notification)
- ✔ Marriage certificate / Gazette notification if name has changed
- ✔ NOC from current employer (if currently employed in a government/semi-government organisation)
- ✔ Google Form submission confirmation (screenshot/printout)
- ✔ Never mention multiple posts/programmes in a single application — each post requires a completely separate application with all documents
- ✔ Ensure percentage in your marksheet matches exactly what you write in the application — any discrepancy leads to rejection
- ✔ Submit Google Form before or alongside the physical application — the form is mandatory and cannot be edited after submission
- ✔ Caste certificate without the required Non-Creamy Layer certificate (where applicable) will result in the application being treated as open category only
- ✔ This article is for informational purposes only — always verify from the official MBMC notification
Three rejection mistakes specific to MBMC NHM contractual applications:
- Submitting experience certificates without clearly mentioned start and end dates — the notification explicitly states that experience without exact joining/relieving dates matching the certificate will not be counted, however many years you claim.
- Uploading grades or CGPA in the application without converting to percentage — the notification warns that applications where the percentage noted in the application does not match the percentage in the certificate will be rejected outright.
- Sending applications by ordinary post rather than registered post — ordinary post receipts cannot be tracked, and MBMC accepts no responsibility for undelivered or delayed ordinary post applications.
Expert Tips
Tip 1: Apply Before 28 April — Last-Day Rush at MBMC Office Is Real
The MBMC Public Health Department office at Bhayandar (W) is a single physical submission point for all four programmes. Given that this notification covers over 100 posts across NHM, NTEP, 15th FC, and HBT — and applications are accepted in person — the office typically sees heavy footfall in the final 3 days. Applying before 28 April 2026 ensures your application is received cleanly, scrutinised calmly, and any deficiencies (such as a missing self-attestation or incorrect form) can be corrected before the deadline. For this MBMC notification specifically, the single-window physical submission model rewards early applicants.
Tip 2: The 15th Finance Commission MO Post (30 Vacancies) Has a BAMS Escape Clause Worth Noting
The notification explicitly states that if MBBS candidates are not available for reserved-category Medical Officer posts under the 15th Finance Commission Urban AAMH programme, BAMS degree holders with MCIM registration are eligible at ₹40,000/month (₹25,000 + ₹15,000 PBI). BAMS graduates in Maharashtra should apply for these 30 MO posts under their respective reservation categories — even if MBBS candidates apply for the same seats, BAMS applicants may fill the reserved slots if the qualified MBBS pool for that category is insufficient. This is a commonly overlooked provision that gives Ayurveda graduates a genuine pathway into municipal healthcare service.
Tip 3: Experience Scoring Is Your Real Differentiator in the Merit System
For all non-interview posts, the merit formula awards 6 marks per year of relevant experience up to a maximum of 30 marks — and a candidate with 5 years of post-qualification experience automatically scores 30 points before their academic percentages are even considered. For posts like Nurse (₹20,000), ANM (₹18,000), Lab Technician (₹17,000), and MPW (₹18,000) where educational qualifications are standardised, experience is the decisive differentiator on the merit list. Ensure every year of relevant experience is documented with an experience certificate bearing the institution letterhead, your exact joining and relieving dates, and the post designation — any certificate missing these details will not be counted.
Tip 4: Separate Application for Each Post — The Single Most Common Disqualification
The notification explicitly warns in bold that submitting one application mentioning multiple posts or multiple programmes will make that application void. A candidate applying for both Full-Time MO (15th FC) and Full-Time MO (NHM) must prepare two completely separate application forms, each with its own complete set of self-attested documents, and submit them separately. Given that many candidates apply under both NHM and 15th FC MO posts simultaneously, this is the single most common reason for application rejection in MBMC health department recruitments — and since the Google Form is also post-specific, you will need to fill it separately for each post you apply for.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the salary for MBMC NHM Medical Officer in 2026?
- MBBS Medical Officers receive a consolidated lump sum stipend of ₹60,000 per month under NHM, 15th Finance Commission AAMH, and HBT Dawakhana. BAMS Medical Officers (when selected in absence of MBBS candidates) receive ₹40,000 per month (₹25,000 + ₹15,000 PBI). All stipends are contractual — there are no additional allowances or government pay scale equivalence.
- What is the last date to apply for MBMC NHM NTEP HBT recruitment 2026?
- The last date for submission of applications (both in-person and by registered post) is 04 May 2026 at 5:00 PM. Applications received after this date and time will not be considered regardless of the reason for delay.
- Can BAMS doctors apply for the Medical Officer post in MBMC 2026?
- Yes, but with conditions. BAMS graduates with valid MCIM registration are eligible for Full-Time Medical Officer posts under the 15th Finance Commission Urban AAMH and HBT Apla Dawakhana programmes only when MBBS candidates are not available for a particular vacancy. BAMS MOs receive ₹40,000/month instead of ₹60,000. For NHM Medical Officer posts, only MBBS is specified.
- What is the age limit for MBMC NHM 2026?
- For Specialists (MD/MS/DNB) and MBBS/Part-Time Medical Officers: maximum 69 years. For Nursing and Paramedical staff: maximum 64 years. For all other posts: maximum 38 years (Open category) and 43 years (Reserved category). Minimum age is 18 years for all posts. Current NHM employees have no age bar when applying for another NHM post.
- Is Maharashtra domicile mandatory for MBMC NHM 2026?
- Yes, absolutely. Maharashtra domicile certificate issued by the competent authority is mandatory for all posts. A self-attested clear photocopy must be submitted with the application, and the original must be produced during document verification if shortlisted.
- What is the selection process for MBMC NHM non-specialist posts?
- Selection is through a merit scoring system: up to 50 marks for the minimum required qualification (proportional to percentage), up to 20 marks for additional/postgraduate qualification, and up to 30 marks for relevant post-qualification experience (6 marks/year). Candidates scoring highest on this 100-point system (at 50% of vacancy count) are called for original document verification.
- Can I apply for multiple posts in MBMC NHM 2026?
- Yes, but each post requires a completely separate application form with all supporting documents. A single application mentioning multiple posts or programmes is automatically rejected. You must also fill the Google Form separately for each post applied for.
- What documents are required for the MBMC NHM 2026 application?
- Required documents include self-attested copies of all educational certificates and mark sheets (SSC onwards), percentage conversion certificate if grades/CGPA are mentioned, council registration certificate, caste/category certificate, Non-Creamy Layer certificate (OBC/NT/SBC), domicile certificate, experience certificates (with exact start/end dates), MSCIT/computer certificate, Small Family certificate, criminal record self-declaration, marriage certificate (if name changed), and NOC from current employer (if in government service).
- Are these MBMC NHM posts permanent government jobs?
- No. All posts mentioned in this notification are purely contractual in nature. They are not regular government posts and carry no connection with state government service. Employees cannot claim absorption into regular government cadre. Each programme (NHM, NTEP, 15th FC, HBT) is independent and benefits are not interchangeable across programmes.
- What are the NHM Part-Time Medical Officer posts in MBMC 2026?
- There are 6 part-time specialist posts under NHM (1 each): Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, Physician, Psychiatrist, Orthopaedics Surgeon, and Dermatologist. Each receives ₹2,000 per visit for up to 15 visits per month (₹30,000 total). No reservation applies to these posts. Maximum age limit is 69 years. Qualifications required are specialty-specific MD/MS/DNB/DGO/DPM/D.Ortho degrees.
