Expert Tips to Crack UPSSSC Graduate Level Main Exam 2026
1. Apply Within the First Week of May 2026
Although the last date is 18 June 2026, apply by 5 June 2026 to avoid server congestion. Fee reconciliation can take up to 7 days – ensure your transaction is settled by 25 June 2026.
2. Understand the Preference Order Strategy
List posts with the highest vacancies (Assistant Treasury Accountant – 548, Audit Officer – 419) as your top preferences. Even if you have a lower PET score, you may still get shortlisted for high-vacancy posts.
3. Master the Negative Marking Pattern
With 1/4 mark deducted per wrong answer, guesswork can destroy your score. Only attempt questions you are 90% sure of. Aim for 60-65 correct answers out of 100 to secure a good rank.
4. Focus on Uttar Pradesh GK (Part 3 – 20 questions)
This is the highest-scoring section per question (20 marks out of 100). Read UP-specific current affairs from the last 18 months – focus on UP Budget 2026-27, new expressways (Purvanchal, Bundelkhand), industrial policies (UP Manufacturing Promotion Scheme 2025), and cultural events (Kumbh Mela 2025, Lucknow Mahotsav).
5. Prepare Computer & IT Section from Standard Sources
MS Excel and MS Word shortcuts, basic internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP), and emerging technologies (AI, IoT, Big Data) are frequently asked. Practice at least 100 multiple-choice questions on computer fundamentals.
6. Keep All Original Documents Ready for Verification
UPSSSC conducts strict document verification. Ensure your EWS certificate is issued between 01 April 2026 and 18 June 2026, based on financial year 2025-26 income. Disability certificates must be in Form II, III, or IV as per RPwD Act 2016, with clear percentage of disability.
7. Download Sample Papers from UPSSSC Website
Visit upsssc.gov.in → “Resources” → “Sample Papers” for previous year question papers of graduate-level examinations. Solve at least 5 full-length mock tests under timed conditions (2 hours for 100 questions).
