Candidates tracking Kurukshetra University UG admission 2026 can now submit their applications – the online portal opened on 7 May 2026 and closes on 31 May 2026 at 23:55 hrs. Kurukshetra University (KUK), a Category-I institution with an A++ NAAC grade, is accepting applications for 21 undergraduate and integrated programmes run through its University Teaching Departments and Institutes. Most programmes require only a passed 10+2 or equivalent, and several new Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programmes (AEDP) include a paid industry apprenticeship in the final year – a feature not prominently highlighted on the official portal.

Quick Eligibility Check

You MAY be eligible if:

  • You have passed 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized board (for most AEDP and general UG programmes).
  • You have at least 50% marks in 10+2 for programmes like BA Journalism, BBA (Hons.), MBA Integrated, BHM&CT, BFA, and BSc Graphics/Multimedia.
  • You have at least 45% marks for BA LLB (Hons.) and MPA 5-Year Integrated.
  • SC/ST candidates meet minimum pass marks as the relaxed eligibility threshold.
  • For ITEP (BA/BSc/BCom BEd): you hold a valid NCET 2026 score card issued by NTA with minimum 50% in 10+2.
You are NOT eligible if:

  • You have a compartment or reappear status in your qualifying examination (applies to all programmes; strictly disqualifying for ITEP and BA LLB).
  • You obtained your 10+2 certificate through Open School/Open University directly without a basic qualifying study record (specifically for BA LLB).
  • You are currently employed or self-employed and seeking admission to BA LLB (Hons.) 5-Year, which is open to full-time students only.
  • For BSc Semiconductor Electronics: you have not studied Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

For AEDP programmes, the eligibility bar is deliberately kept low – any 10+2 pass qualifies – because these courses are built around employability, not prior specialisation.

The Haryana General Category (HGC) holds the largest block of seats across all programmes – typically 37–42% of sanctioned intake – meaning competition within the state quota is highest for general category applicants in popular courses like BA LLB (42 HGC seats) and BBA/MBA (23 HGC seats each). SC seats are split equally between Other Scheduled Castes (OSC) and Deprived Scheduled Castes (DSC); if DSC seats go unfilled, they transfer to OSC candidates and vice versa, so SC applicants of either sub-category should apply regardless. PwD (DA) candidates benefit from a policy that guarantees at least one seat even when the proportional share falls below 0.5 – practically important in small-intake programmes like MTech Applied Geology (20 seats). The BA LLB programme is the largest single intake at 120 sanctioned seats plus 8 supernumerary seats, making it the most accessible by absolute numbers. AEDP programmes cap at 40–60 seats, so competition in newer courses like BSc Data Science (50 seats) may be lower than in established programmes in the first few cycles. Additionally, 15% supernumerary seats exist for international students across all programmes, and single girl children holding Haryana domicile qualify for one additional supernumerary seat per programme.

SC candidates whose family income is below ₹2.50 lakh per annum pay no fee – they are covered under the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. No fee concession is available for SFS courses (except Group-C/D University employees). All figures are approximate; verify from the official notification before making decisions.

Application Fee

Category First Programme Each Additional Programme Payment Mode
General / Others ₹1,200 ₹500 Net Banking / UPI / NEFT-RTGS / CSC Wallet
SC / BC / DA (Haryana only) ₹300 ₹125 Same as above

Debit and credit cards are not accepted on the KUK portal – keep UPI or net banking ready before starting the form. Application fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstance.

Age Limit

No upper or lower age limit is specified in the notification for UG/Integrated programmes. However, for BA LLB (Hons.), candidates who appeared in the 2025 10+2 exam and whose results are pending may apply at their own risk, subject to fulfilling eligibility on the date of counselling. Age is used as a tie-breaking criterion only: when merit is equal, the older candidate ranks higher.

Eligibility Criteria by Programme Type

Programme Group Minimum Qualification Stream Required Special Condition
AEDP (BCom, BCA, BMS, BVoc, BA Analytics) 10+2 pass – any stream None
BSc Data Science (AEDP) 10+2 with Mathematics Science preferred Maths compulsory
BSc Semiconductor Electronics (AEDP) 10+2 with Physics & Maths Science Both subjects mandatory
BSc Geology Professional (AEDP) 10+2 with Science Science
BVoc Industrial Biochemistry (AEDP) 10+2 with Medical/Biology Science (Bio)
BVoc ESS (AEDP) 10+2 pass Any
BA Journalism, BHM&CT, BFA, BSc Graphics/Multimedia/PPT 10+2 with 50% (pass marks for SC/ST) Any with English English compulsory subject
BBA (Hons.), MBA 5-Yr 10+2 with 50% and English Any No compartment
BA LLB (Hons.) 5-Yr 10+2 with 45% (40% for SC/ST/DA) Any with English Full-time only; no Open School direct
MPA 5-Yr Integrated 10+2 with 45% and English Any
MTech Applied Geology 5-Yr 10+2 with Physics + Maths + one science Science / Engineering Diploma Chemistry/Bio/CS/Geology as third subject
ITEP (BA/BSc/BCom BEd) 10+2 with 50% + NCET 2026 score Arts/Science/Commerce respectively NTA NCET score mandatory

Final-year candidates whose 10+2 results are awaited may apply provisionally for most programmes. The most common mistake for ITEP applicants is not registering for NCET through NTA – without a valid NCET score card, the application will not be considered regardless of marks. Equivalent qualifications are accepted provided they are from a recognized board or university; candidates from boards outside Haryana must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the Registration Branch before provisional admission.

Selection Process

Merit-Based Admission (All Programmes Except ITEP)

Admission to all UG and integrated programmes – including all 9 AEDP courses – is based on marks obtained in the qualifying 10+2 examination plus applicable weightages (maximum 5 marks). There is no entrance test. If two candidates tie on merit points, the tiebreaker sequence is: higher 12th percentage → higher 10th percentage → older age. This makes a strong 10+2 score the single most important factor.

NCET-Based Admission (ITEP Only)

The 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme is filled strictly on NCET 2026 scores from the National Testing Agency. Tiebreaking follows age then 12th marks. Two sports supernumerary seats within ITEP’s sanctioned intake are displayed in the First List itself.

Your First 7 Days After Applying

  1. Save your application reference number and take a printout immediately – corrections are not allowed post-submission.
  2. Verify your fee payment status on the KUK portal; if status is not “OK,” the transaction is cancelled and you need to reapply.
  3. Bookmark the admission portal and check it daily from June 8 – the First Merit List goes live at 10:00 hrs.
  4. Keep all original documents and one set of self-attested photocopies ready for document verification, which begins the same day fees are deposited.
  5. If applying under SC/BC/EWS/DA category, confirm your certificate was issued on or after 1 April 2026 – older certificates require an affidavit.

Exam Syllabus

Admission to all programmes (except ITEP) is purely merit-based on 10+2 marks – there is no written entrance exam and therefore no syllabus. For ITEP, refer to the official NCET 2026 syllabus published by NTA at their website. Do not prepare from unofficial sources.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the application fee for KUK UG Admissions 2026 for general category candidates?
The processing fee is ₹1,200 for the first programme and ₹500 for each additional programme. SC, BC, and Differently Abled candidates from Haryana pay ₹300 and ₹125 respectively. Payment must be made online via Net Banking, UPI, or NEFT; debit and credit cards are not accepted on the portal.
What is the last date to apply for Kurukshetra University UG Admissions 2026?
The online application form closes on 31 May 2026 at 23:55 hrs. The first merit list will be displayed on 8 June 2026. The absolute last cut-off for all admissions, including those with late fee, is 30 June 2026.
How many total seats are available across all programmes in KUK UG 2026?
The total sanctioned intake across the 21 programmes exceeds 1,200 seats, with additional supernumerary seats for sports persons, NCC/NSS, Kashmiri migrants, single girl child, and international students. The largest single programme is BA LLB (Hons.) at 120 seats.
What is the minimum eligibility for AEDP programmes at KUK?
Most AEDP (Apprenticeship Embedded Degree) programmes require only a passed 10+2 in any stream – no minimum percentage is prescribed. Exceptions are BSc Data Science (Mathematics required) and BSc Semiconductor Electronics (Physics and Mathematics required). These are 3-year employment-oriented degrees with a paid industry apprenticeship in the third year.
Is a separate entrance exam required for KUK UG admissions 2026?
No entrance exam is required for any programme except ITEP (Integrated Teacher Education Programme), which requires a valid NCET 2026 score card from NTA. All other programmes admit purely on the basis of 10+2 merit plus applicable weightages (maximum 5 marks for NCC/NSS/Youth Festival achievements).
What is the age relaxation for OBC/BC candidates in KUK UG programmes?
No age limit is prescribed for UG admissions at Kurukshetra University. Age is only used as a tiebreaker when merit points are equal, with older candidates ranked higher. BC-A and BC-B candidates benefit from reserved seats (16% and 11% of state quota respectively), not age relaxation.
Can final-year 10+2 students apply for KUK UG admissions 2026?
Yes, for most programmes. Candidates whose 2025 10+2 results are not yet declared may apply at their own risk and must fulfil the eligibility conditions by the date of counselling. However, candidates with a compartment in the qualifying exam are not eligible for any programme, including provisionally.
Is the D.El.Ed accepted instead of NCET for ITEP admission at KUK?
No. Admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at KUK is based strictly on the NCET score conducted by NTA in 2026. Neither D.El.Ed nor B.Ed qualifications are relevant here – ITEP is an undergraduate entry programme, not a postgraduate teacher training course.
