KEA Karnataka Surveyor Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 750 Vacancies

Among the July 2026 releases, KEA has announced one of the largest state-level recruitment drives for the Surveyor post. The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has released two notifications (No. 18/2026 and 19/2026) for the recruitment of Surveyors in the Department of Survey, Settlement and Land Records. A total of 750 vacancies are available – 560 for the Residual Main Cadre and 190 for the Kalyana-Karnataka Cadre. This is a Group-C post offering an attractive Pay Level-6 salary.

Competition Insight: With 750 total vacancies, the General category has the highest seats (328 in Residual Cadre). Category-2A has 184 seats, providing substantial opportunities for OBC candidates. The SC categories together have approximately 284 seats. Women have 35% horizontal reservation across all categories. The Kalyana-Karnataka Cadre has 190 vacancies specifically for candidates from the six districts of Kalyan Karnataka region.

KEA Surveyor Salary and In-Hand Calculation

The salary package is as per the 2024 Revised State Pay Scale with Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other applicable allowances. National Pension Scheme (NPS) applies as per Government Order No. FDSBLIETT2005 dated 31.03.2006.

Educational Qualification

• Option A: Degree in Engineering/Technology (any discipline) from a recognized university under law; OR AMIE degree in any Engineering/Technology.
• Option B: B.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, or Agriculture.
• Option C: Diploma in Engineering/Technology (any discipline) from an AICTE recognized institution.

Physical Standards

• Male: Height – 163 cm (152.5 cm for ST), Chest – 79 cm × 84 cm (5 cm expansion mandatory).
• Female: Height – 150 cm (145 cm for ST). Chest is not measured for female candidates.
• Transgender: Physical standards as per Backward Class candidates.

Selection Process

Stage 1: Written Examination (Offline OMR Mode)

Paper I – General Knowledge: 100 marks, 2 hours. Covers Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Indian Constitution, History (especially Karnataka), Geography (especially Karnataka), State and Local Administration, Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Karnataka Economy, and Environmental issues.

Paper II – Subject Specific: 100 marks, 2 hours. Syllabus includes Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Physics, Geography, and Modern Surveying Methods.

Stage 2: Kannada Language Test

Kannada language test (150 marks) for candidates who have not studied Kannada as a subject. Minimum 50 marks required to qualify. Exemption for candidates who have studied Kannada in SSLC or higher.

Stage 3: Probation and Training

Selected candidates undergo 2 years probation. Mandatory 6-month training at the Department’s Survey Training Institute. Must secure 35% in theoretical and 40% in practical examinations.
